Tony Fiorentino

As a young airman in the US Navy, I volunteered for an expedition to Antarctica on an icebreaker in the late 1950’s. My tour of duty took me across the South Pacific, New Zealand and to Antarctica, the least visited continent for one of the largest scientific studies ever undertaken. There I experienced adventure and the unspoiled grandeur of nature, as well as crushing tragedy.
